Ryan’s Bar Mitzvah

THE STORY

Back at one of our favorite spots, RP Prime in Mahwah, where the food is always excellent and the setting never disappoints. This family knew exactly what they did not want: the typical Bar Mitzvah. What they wanted instead was something calmer, more personal, and entirely Ryan.

A luncheon. Meaningful touches. A genuinely fun experience without anything over the top. Simple as that, and honestly some of our favorite briefs to work with.

Cocktail hour kicked off with a mentalist who broke the ice and got every guest talking. From there the kids had a gaming truck outside, an airbrushed sweatshirt station, tabletop games, and nitrogen infused ice cream made on site. A custom Jenga set served as the guest sign in book, every block carrying a personal message from someone who loves Ryan. Four courses followed, the tables dressed with simplicity and class, silver accents and a masculine palette that felt exactly right without trying too hard. And every guest left with a custom cookie package. A very sweet ending to a very lovely afternoon.

THE VISION

The vision was refreshingly clear. Classy and masculine without being overdone. Special without being showy. A celebration that felt like Ryan, not like every other Bar Mitzvah in the room next door.

We let the color combination and silver accents do the heavy lifting design wise, keeping the tablescapes clean and intentional. The energy came from the experiences, not the decor. Mentalism, gaming, creativity stations, and handcrafted details gave guests something to do, something to remember, and something to talk about on the way home.

Subtle personalization was the throughline. From the Jenga guest book to the custom cookies, every touch was chosen with intention and built around the boy being celebrated.
